Explorer's learning academy was/is the complete opposite for us. Huge yard - amazing for kids to be outside exploring, running around and testing their own abilities. The educators are honestly beautiful, and all so lovely. Special credit to Sam who really brought my son out of his shell! I noticed a big change in him as soon as he started at explorer's. He made friends, brought home art and craft "masterpieces", brought home a lot more sand, dirt, bark and grass (means he had fun!), but also came home happily telling me about his day! I wholeheartedly believe that Explorer's assisted in his transition to kindy greatly, and I'm so relieved and glad that we made the decision to move them to this centre.
Our family appreciate the girls at Explorer's so much, and while there have been some staff that have left (as would all other centres) my kids have taken no time in adjusting to a new educator here and there, nor has it affected their happiness and eagerness to attend. My daughter's favourite tends to rotate between many educators, which tells me she's fond of more than just a few of the girls. Shout out to Kasey, Simone and Cristina for loving on my sensitive princess of a baby girl and making her ease into the centre without an issue in the beginning. I'm confident that when Baby #3 is ready to start, he will be well looked after and adored also!
I was quite nervous leaving my daughter for the first time at 4 years old, but all the staff were very welcoming, warm and just really lovely. Highly recommended! Wouldn't go anywhere else!
The teachers are so lovely, and so passionate about the work they are doing with these little minds. We only have 1 year left now before big school and I am excited to see the new things Scarlett will pick up as a ‘Schoolie’ next year. My kid adores her teachers. Talks about how great they are all the time.
She will really miss coming here when she graduates. Another thing I really appreciate about these wonderful ladies is that they want to send my girl out into the world completely prepared for what comes next. They are dedicated to making sure these kids are equipped to handle the transition to ‘big school’ so they will not just ‘be fine’ at school but excel! Thanks again Explorers for looking after my Scarlett. Highly recommend.

At Explorers Lego play is a powerful learning tool that supports childrens development in so many ways. Building fine motor skills through snapping, stacking and connecting peices to strengthen little hands and fingers. Encouraging problem solving skills through planning, testing and adapting. Early STEM concepts such as balance , patterns, size and structure as well as promting creativity and social skills. We use Lego play to assist children to learn to persist, think critically and feel proud of what they create. It is hands-on learning that grows confidence and a love of learning.

Happy Lunar New Year – Welcome to the Year of the Horse!
We would like to wish all of our wonderful families a very happy and prosperous Year of the Horse. Today, our children have been immersed in beautiful celebrations as we explored the rich traditions and cultural significance of Lunar New Year together.
Throughout the day, the children discovered their individual Chinese zodiac animals, sparking meaningful conversations about identity, culture, and belonging. They joyfully created festive party hats, engaged in imaginative role play using traditional masks, and expressed their creativity through hands-on experiences. Our sensory trays, thoughtfully inspired by Lunar New Year, invited children to explore colour, texture, and symbolic elements connected to the celebration.
One of the highlights of the day was watching our Emus group create stunning cherry blossom trees. The cherry blossom symbolises renewal, hope, and the beauty of new beginnings a meaningful reminder of the fresh start that the Lunar New Year brings.
As a Chinese proverb shares, “A new year brings new opportunities, new beginnings, and new blessings.”
We feel privileged to celebrate the diverse cultures within our learning community and to support children in developing respect, curiosity, and appreciation for the world around them.

Emergency Drill Week at Explorers Learning Academy
This week at Explorers Learning Academy, we have been focusing on Emergency Drill Week, ensuring that our children and educators feel safe, confident and prepared in the event of an emergency. Practising drills regularly helps children build familiarity with procedures, reduce anxiety and develop a strong understanding of safety routines within their environment.
We are incredibly fortunate to have our dedicated Hearing Support Occupational Therapists from NextSense, who visit our service every Thursday. During their visit this week, they worked closely with our educators to strengthen how we communicate emergency instructions effectively through Auslan.
Together, we explored key emergency signs such as stop, wait, line up, quiet, safe, help and danger, ensuring we can inclusively support our deaf children during drills and real-life emergency situations.
This experience not only strengthens our emergency preparedness but also deepens our commitment to inclusive practice and equitable communication for every child in our care.

Children learn about their world though playing. Dramatic play also known as pretend play is important for children’s development. Dramatic play helps support children’s social skills and supports their self-expression. Dramatic play also helps to build on children’s language skills as children will have conversations with other children during play. Children will bring their imagination to life by using dress-ups, home-corners, baby dolls, puppets and so much more.
